Privacy Policy

We collect what we need to run the games and as little as possible beyond that. We don't show ads, we don't sell your data, and you can play anonymously without an account. If you want us to delete your data, you can do it yourself from the in-app Settings screen, or email us.

When you use the Service, we collect:

• An anonymous account identifier generated for you at first launch (a random UUID).
• Gameplay data for each of the daily games (Cipher, Clusters, Distance, Flags, Emoguess, Palette, Shades, and Outline): which puzzles you played, your guesses, completion times, whether you solved each puzzle, your current and longest streaks per game, and game-language preference.
• Email address, only if you choose to sign in or create an account. Email sign-in is optional and unlocks the full archive, leaderboards, and stats sync across devices.
• Subscription state, if you purchase a Pro subscription. We receive entitlement events from RevenueCat (our subscription processor) including expiration date and product identifier. We do not receive your payment-card data — that stays with the App Store or Google Play.
• Push notification token, only if you opt in to daily reminders.
• Leaderboard handle, only if you opt in to the public leaderboard. We auto-generate a pseudonymous handle (e.g. "sly-fox-rapid") — it does not reveal your real name or email.
• Anonymous analytics eventsvia PostHog (EU cloud) for events like "puzzle completed" and "share copied". Touch capture and session replay are disabled.
• Device platform: iOS or Android, for compatibility and debugging.

We do not collect your name, phone number, precise location, contacts, photos, advertising identifier, or health data.

We use the data we collect to:

• Power your streak counters and the daily archive
• Synchronize your progress across devices when you sign in
• Prevent cheating and ensure fair play (server-side puzzle validation for word-based games)
• Verify Pro subscription status and unlock entitled features
• Send daily push reminders if you opted in
• Show opt-in leaderboards
• Understand product usage in aggregate and diagnose bugs

We rely on a small number of vendors to operate the Service:

• Supabase — backend, database, and authentication. Gameplay data is stored here.
• RevenueCat — manages Pro subscription entitlements. Used only if you subscribe.
• PostHog (EU cloud) — anonymous product analytics. No session replay, no touch capture.
• Apple Push Notification service and Firebase Cloud Messaging — only used if you opt in to push notifications.

We do not use third-party advertising networks or tracking pixels. If that changes, we will update this page before the new integration ships.

The Service is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided information to us, contact us at hello@yourdailypuzzle.com and we will delete the associated data.

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete personal data we hold about you, and to ask us to stop processing it.

Self-service deletion.You can permanently delete your account and all associated data from inside the app: open Settings → Delete account. Anonymous users (those who haven't signed in) can clear all local data via Settings → Delete local data. Either action is immediate and cannot be undone.

We keep your gameplay data while your account is active. If your account shows no activity for 24 months, we may automatically delete it. You can request deletion sooner at any time.

We use industry-standard measures to protect data in transit (HTTPS) and at rest (managed database with row-level security). No system is perfectly secure — if a breach occurs, we will notify affected users within a reasonable timeframe as required by law.

Our backend is hosted in the United States. If you are located elsewhere, your data will be transferred to and processed in the US. By using the Service you consent to this transfer.

We will post updates to this Privacy Policy on this page and update the effective date above. If changes are material, we will also announce them in the app before they take effect.
